I’ve been feeling in the mood dress in florals and soak up all the summer vibes while I still can. The problem is that my style is mostly black and rather minimal, if I’m being honest. Don’t get me wrong, I love light colors and airy fabrics. In fact, I’ve been eyeing a blush colored dress at the store with long sleeves, cut outs in the shoulders, and a bit of a turtleneck. Despite being a long sleeved piece, it reminded me of summer and how I’ve been neglecting it with my mostly black wardrobe. I thought I would transfer that mood over to the blog to bring you a last taste of summer, before all of the autumn posts start rolling in. School may be back in session, but the weather is still warm and the sun is still out at 7 p.m. Let’s embrace it!
For this look, I decided to go with a breezy dress with a synched in waist (I’m sensing a pattern here.) The dress actually has an open triangle back, that makes it a beautiful piece on it’s own. However, we have so many stunning kimonos in store right now that are located by the register. I couldn’t resist pairing this peachy dress with a floral kimono with tassels at the bottom. I think it’s what makes this look feel so carefree and fun. For accessories, I went with a simple necklace with a jeweled flower to bring out the blue tones in the kimono. The shoes I’m wearing are from my own closet that I picked up from the Plato’s Closet in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
This is a look I feel would be perfect for dinners, church and even cook outs at the park. The material feels light on the skin and the colors are a perfect way to celebrate the beautiful weather while we still can. While I love the dark and cozy looks accompanied with fall, I want to embrace all the sunshine and flowers while I still can.
