About the Editor

My name is Emily Austin and from now on, I’m your go to for all of your fashion needs. I’m the Social Media Editor for the Plato’s Closet in Jackson, TN where I pretty much live and breathe clothing. Through this site, I hope to convey to you my thoughts on todays trends and why Plato’s Closet has become my preferred brand of fashion.

I graduated in May 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism at Middle Tennessee State University. Ever since high school, I knew I wanted to be a writer and I did everything from writing fanfics on Quizilla to writing for my high school’s newspaper. I carried that passion into my college career where I discovered my interest in writing for the beauty and fashion industry. From there, I went on to write about fashion, TV, health, and entertainment in the Nashville area for MTSU Sidelines. I also interned with CollegeFashionista where I basically style stalked my fellow classmates and wrote articles about their impeccable sense of style.

Throughout college, I noticed I had a high maintenance sense of style with a low-lifestyle budget. I visited a Plato’s Closet for the first time when my mom came to visit me during my freshman year. She and I have always loved thrifting and would often go to yard sales or hit Goodwill, but I always lacked the styles that I often pined after. At Plato’s Closet, I was able to find brands ranging from Forever 21 blouses to Vans shoes to Michael Kors bags – all marked 50-70% off the retail price.

I knew after graduating that I wanted to write about fashion and beauty, so I thought it would be a good idea to get experience working with retail. Now I’ve been given this amazing opportunity to talk to you about style! Plato’s Closet Preferred, of course.

I hope you stick around, subscribe to the blog and tell us what you think in the comments section!
